Estava dirigindo hoje a tarde ouvindo o CD da Lauryn Hill, quando minha atenção se voltou para a letra da música “Forgive them Father.” Achei muito verdadeira e intrigante.
Somente para questão de situação, as palavras “forgive them Father for they know not what they do” foram proferidas por Jesus Cristo ao ser crucificado. Está escrito no livro de Lucas 23.34. Aquele foi um momento em que Jesus teve uma profunda consciência de Sua missão e indiscultivelmente foi também uma grande prova de amor. Não é fácil fazer esta oração, principalmente no contexto ao qual Jesus se encontrava.
A música fala de situações onde pessoas se decepcionam com outros porque esperam neles ações que condizam com o discurso ou imagem vendida, contudo, isto quase sempre é algo que eles não podem ou não querem fazer. Muitos agem por motivações erradas, ou seja, pessoas que para tirar proveito de algo ou alguém, mentem e se disfarçam de inocência, de pureza, etc. Porém, o pior de tudo é que a verdadeira motivação quase sempre está abafada por detrás de uma hipocrisia disfarçada de piedade. Isso tem se tornado muito comum hoje em dia, as pessoas estão vendendo suas almas, e o preço está cada vez mais barato. Muitos já não tem mais coração!
Perdoa-os Pai, porque eles não sabem o que fazem, é o coro da música, foram as palavras de Jesus em um momento literalmente crucial (de cruz), e deve também ser a nossa, para que haja o exercício de uma vida cristã verdadeira e abundante.
Existirão momentos em nossas vidas que qualquer atitude nossa de vingança ou de retribuição poderá nos trazer desgostos infindáveis. O melhor a fazer é entregar a Deus, e pedir que Ele os perdoe e que se for da vontade dEle, que Ele execute o juízo.
Foi Ele quem nos ensinou a amar os nossos inimigos.
